Time Machine backup? I haven't tried it yet but that what it's supposed to do. On the iBoysoft page reviewing Paragon, they say one Con is that it's "hard to uninstall." The second company has this blog saying that FUSE is available for MacOS. It's "interesting" that Paragon is not listed in the Apple store, only Max, iBoysoft, and Omi.

It might come back the next time you upgrade MacOS. I can't find any Apple support docs about re-installing read-only NTFS. I am feeling quite frustrated with the whole switch to Mac experience so far (many things I don't want to go into) so spending a few hundred dollars more for an additional 2tb SSD that without the Mac I have no need for is making me hesitant. Some months are just a handful of photos, but most are a few hundred and many are thousands (when I travel abroad). All my photos are in year and month folders going back to 2000. Also, I read in a few places that it is slower than they are, particularly for folders with lots of files. Of course, exFAT is another choice, but it is not a robust file system like NTFS and APFS so much easier to get corruption. I guess I will need to buy another external 2tb SSD and format it for APFS. I am new to Mac and don't know a lot so maybe there is something I can do to fix this. I know the several people who recommended Paragon were just trying to help and not trying to screw up my new Mac. I realize this is all on me and I am not blaming anyone other than myself. When I plug in a FAT32 thumb drive it is recognized. I unplugged it and plugged it in again, but same thing. The Mac doesn't recognize that I have plugged it in and it doesn't appear in Finder. I unplugged it and plugged it in again, but still no luck. It doesn't appear in Finder when I plug it in. Well, now after uninstalling Paragon the Mac no longer recognizes the NTFS thumb drive. Before installing Paragon I could only read from it, but after installing Paragon I could read and write. I then plugged in a 32gb USB thumb drive that I had formatted to NTFS yesterday to do some testing on before installing Paragon and then again after installing Paragon. I had the video running on my PC right next to the Mac so I could follow along carefully.Ībout an hour ago I uninstalled Paragon and then went back and set all the MacOS security back to the way it was. I had to watch, backup, watch, backup, watch some sections multiple times because there are some steps that they barely show for 1 second or even less than 1 second and you almost miss those steps and then are confused and lost. You have to carefully watch the video to see what they require.

I just have the 10 day trial now, but I am going to uninstall it and hope I can undo all the crap I had to do to install it. Earlier I had the 2tb SSD connected, but without Paragon and then Lightroom was not slow so I guess the Paragon read/write file system software is much slower than the MacOS read-only software. Now I have the external 2tb SSD connected. This afternoon I finally installed Paragon. All my photos that are imported into Lightroom (1gb+) on my external 2tb SSD and the catalog is on the internal SSD. There is a reason Apple disables old drivers. I decided to give it a try and after all the hassle it didn't work and I had to backtrack. The Samsung fingerprint scanner software needed special permissions (enabled from the special boot menu). Yes, anything that needs low level permissions has a high level of risk.
